Client Services Manager

STATUS: Non-exempt

LOCATION: Jane’s House

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Chief Clinical Officer

HOURS: : Full-Time 40-hour work week Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with the exception of one day of the week being 10:00 am-7:00 pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

SUMMARY: Oversees daily operations and staff of the Biloxi domestic violence emergency shelter. Ensures high-quality client services, compliance with facility and grant requirements, and a trauma-informed, healing-centered environment. Provides individual and group counseling to residential and nonresidential survivors of domestic violence.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirement of a Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related discipline from an accredited program and possess license to practice in Mississippi. Minimum of two (2) years of related credentialed experience and ONE (1) year of supervisory experience.

Must have strong understanding of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and treatment planning with survivors of interpersonal violence

Must have excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of clients, staff and individuals in the community.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; work both independently and in a team environment and effectively lead, inspire, mentor and develop a goal-oriented culture.

Ability to work within agency mission, philosophy and policies/procedures.

Must have a reliable vehicle and meet agency driving policy requirements, including a valid driver license and proof of required automobile insurance. Travel required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Clinical

  • Ensure timely and appropriate admission of eligible clients to shelter
  • Provide individual and group counseling, advocacy, and case management services to residential and nonresidential clients
  • Complete or oversee clinical intake assessments within 24 hours of shelter admission
  • Provide client transportation and court accompaniment as needed
  • Serve as liaison with community agencies and referral sources to better serve clients
  • Provide presentations and conduct public relations activities as requested
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly multidisciplinary staffings including shelter case staffing and clinical supervision meeting.
  • Participate in on-call clinical back-up rotation per agency schedule
  • Respond to and resolve client grievances in a timely and professional manner

Supervisory and Program Management Duties

  • Supervise program staff including Counselor, Case Manager, Senior Residential Advisor, Bilingual Client Advocates, Peer Support Specialist, Cook and student interns.
  • Conduct interviews, make hiring recommendations, and evaluate employee performance
  • Provide in-house training programs/events for staff, board members, volunteers and students
  • Facilitate monthly team meeting with program staff to ensure alignment with program goals
  • Attend monthly supervisor team meetings and quarterly Program Managers meetings
  • Ensure staff maintain accurate documentation and attend required meetings
  • Conduct periodic quality assurance reviews of client files
  • Ensure staff compliance with agency policies, grant requirements, and funding goals.
  • Ensure the implementation of program goals and objectives as specified by funding grants. Report problems, concerns and successes to supervisor
  • Completed required statistical reports for shelter programs.
  • Ensure 24/7 staff coverage of the shelter facility is provided
  • Assure that all required signage and forms are intact and accessible in shelter facility
  • Oversee Jane’s House food budget and ensure expenditures remain within approved limits; monitor kitchen operations for compliance with food safety and funding requirements

Agency Compliance

  • Maintain comprehensive and organized files utilizing the automated data and case management system
  • Adhere to the agency’s confidentiality policies, maintaining a high-level standard of confidentiality
  • Compile and accurately report all applicable program statistics and educational activities on time and as directed
  • Report any known or suspected child abuse to immediate supervisor
  • Report any suspicious activity or persons
  • Attend and participate in agency staff meetings and trainings
  • Report to work on time as scheduled
  • Maintain a valid driver license and proof of required automobile insurance
  • Perform all other duties and/or participate in special projects as assigned by direct supervisor or Chief Executive Officer.

Other Duties

  • Participate in hurricane evacuation and facility preparation.
  • In case of emergencies and extreme circumstances, will be required to assist with 24-hour shelter coverage
  • Work in conjunction with other program components and staff to ensure effective communication of agency and client concerns, recommendations, and needs
